The Star

I'm going to be posting daily prompts to inspire writing, art or journaling. Use these as you would like to help keep your creative practices moving.

Some thoughts that occur to me:

• A star often heralds hope and dreams/wishes come to fruition. Write a story that asks - who’s wishes?

• I think of this card as associated with mother nature and rejuvenation of the earth. Given the terrible ways we treat this planet, what would an entity seeking to rejuvenate it do with us?

• Write the story of a character who feels they are guided through life by a particular star.

• A character has a foot in two differing ‘worlds’. How do they negotiate this? Don’t resolve it by having them pick just one.

Note that cards are drawn at random and may be drawn more than once. In that case I will repost with an additional idea. I am going to cap the number of repeats at 3 until I’ve been through the whole deck, but other than this I let the luck of the draw decide. Coming up with more ideas for the same card will force me to be more imaginative and its something I strongly recommend.
