Snowflake Step 2: Your Novel in a Single Paragraph

Recommended time: 1 hour

Expand your sentence into a full paragraph. This should cover the premise (1 sentence), the major disasters (3 sentences) and the ending (1 sentence).

Tip: If you use the three act structure, the disasters should happen at the end of act I, the midpoint of act II and the end of act II (because, as you know, the three act structure has four sections!) In the Seven Point Story Structure, the disasters are the two pinch points and the midpoint. You can map these onto most others like Save the Cat, the Hero’s Journey, etc. Whatever you are most familiar with.
